I am presently converting my King Inn viewer to a 13 watt Vita lite tube.
It is a bit larger physically than the included 4 watt tube but will fit in
there with a bit of work and no cutting away of plastic. The little
oscillator/driver circuit board may or may not provide enough current for
the higher wattage tube but I'm prepared to change the driver transistor
the something beefier if needed. Also I'm thinking of changing the duty
cycle of the circuit if it's too bright. The advantage of the Vita Lite is
that it is a wide spectrum tube that goes way up to ultraviolet. It's
better than the wide spectrum tubes that come inside light tables. If you
ever have a chance to see a Vita light in indoor lighting you will marvel
at it's whiteness and it's abillity to bring out colors( the closest thing
to daylight I've seen).
