P3D X-Ray Scare: Fact or Fiction?

Travel season is approaching fast and the latest issue of
Shutterbug carries travel-related articles. One of these
articles is related to the airport x-ray issue, discussed
a couple of times here in photo-3d.

The way I read the article, the x-ray scare is pure fiction.
But, someone else could draw different conclusions. I have
always taken my film through the x-ray inspection machines,
even when traveling to "third world" countries like Greece :-)
and never had a problem through the accumulated effect of
going though a number of these machines in the course of the
trip.

Author Roger W. Hicks writes: "We have never heard of (damage)
from anyone who has personally experienced it, nor have we seen
any evidence of it, though there are always plenty of stories
which begin something like, 'My brother-in-law's wedding shots
were all ruined.' It's just that we have never been able to
verify any of them so far."

Finally, he invites anyone who has first-hand evidence of
x-ray damage to film to write to him c/o Shutterbug or
email at 101325.3171@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx giving as much information
as possible.
