P3D computer system for 3D graphics and photos


I am interested in purchasing a computer system for arranging stereo photos
using Adobe Photoshop and also for making POV Ray style stereoscopic images and
maybe even combining the two.  Any recommendations for a budget of about $2500
US?

Furthermore, the school I work at has loaned me it's Casio Liquid Crystal
Digital Camera to try out.  Anybody have any tips in general, and on using this
for 3D photos.
