I would highly recommend the King Inn viewer which is still available
new from Que Vue.  This fluorescent viewer was manufactured for medium
format stereo 
but an adapter is available for standard 2x2 slides.  The adapter, which
sells for 5 bucks can be left in the viewer.  The slides simply drop in
from the top.  The King Inn is extremely bright, batteries last a long
time (AA) and the lenses are good quality, especially for viewing the
smaller format.  since your using only the central portion of the glass.
There's focus control but no interocular.   This shouldn't be a problem
cause the lenses are large.  I think the selling price of the King Inn
is about $135.  I have no interest, by the way, in sales of this item.
