Here is a little bit more on the presentation...
DIGITAL OPERA IN 3D
Don’t forget, Oscar-nominated
composer Philip Glass' new work
Monsters of Grace. It will
transform the spiritual poetry of
the 13th century mystic Jellaluddin
Rumi into ecstatic and often erotic
love songs. The UCLA Center for
the Performing Arts returns to
Royce Hall with the Premiere
Engagement (13 performances
only) of Philip Glass & Robert
Wilson’s “Monsters of Grace 1.0,
A digital opera in three
dimensions”.
High art meets high technology,
this premiere release of a new
computer-generated stereoscopic
opera by this legendary creative
team. The presentation will
combine stereoscopic images
projected in 70mm format set to
music performed live by Philip
Glass, with the Philip Glass
Ensemble and Singers performing
live.
It's at UCLA from April 15th to
26th (not the 30th) and in London
from May 19th to 23rd. All seats
are $35.00 and include 3D
souvenir glasses designed by l.a.
Eyeworks. MOG 1.0 features the
work of Kleiser-Walczak
Construction Company using
advanced digital technology by
Silicon Graphics, Inc.
The Kleiser-Walczak Construction
Company is also busy on a
stereoscopic-3D computer
animated Spiderman 3D for
Universal Studios, Florida (that
includes multiple screens and a
motion simulator train).
