Dr. T is away, but in the past he has urged that S3D be reserved just for
offers to buy or sell, and any discussion be moved to P3D or private email
(whichever is appropriate). 

Also from the instructions to new subscribers:
   "This is not the place for discussions of 3D - postings should be limited
   to "For Sale" and "Wanted" items. We recommend you preface your "Subject:"
   line with one of the following:

         "FS:"   (For Sale)
         "WTB:"  (Wanted To Buy)
         "SOLD:" (To inform the list that an item has been sold)

   to help people scan the list postings more quickly. Examples:

         FS: Kodak Stereo camera
         WTB: Images of West Virginia


   If you are interested in an item, reply DIRECTLY to that person via
   private email - NOT through the list. This list is not the place for
   bidding or making offers on equipment posted."

Those instructions seem pretty unambiguous regarding discussions.
