Can anyone out there reply to this person with any of this information
if you have it? She wrote to me because of the listings in the 3D book
list, but all I know is out there already! =) If you do respond, can you
copy me so that I might update the web site?
Thanks,
Dan Shelley

The last offering of these that I know of was in Reel 3-D's catalogue no. 13
dated 1991. The price had been slashed from the original $395 to $165. The set
included the focussing model D viewer in a storage case with a weighted desk
stand and mains transformer. The storage cases had foam padding which was
spontaneoulsy breaking down by the time of the offer.
They were originally produced by The Gruber Foundation and The Asia Society.
Photography was by William B Gruber (who invented the Viewmaster system) and
Rupert P Leach. The authors are given as Harry M Garner and Margaret Medley.
Publication date was 1969. "1000 copies of this edition have been printed".
The dedication is by Norma Gruber to the memory of her husband.
I know of a number of copies in the collections of members of the Stereoscopic
Society committee, for instance, and I know that Rosemary Scott (curator of
the Percival David Foundation of Chinese Art in London) has a set in her
office that is never looked at! (After all, she can go and handle many
examples of "the real thing" in her museum!!! Pity that their copy is
languishing unloved, though.
As you may have guessed, I have a set. So if you need any other information,
I'll be happy to supply what I can.
Oh, and I'm not selling!
