Sheesh... a bit grumpy today are we?


$25 and a cheap flatbed are not going to challenge a $1000 transparenct
scanner, but then we really should spend about $250,000 US for a decent
scanner shouldn't we :-)


The $25 approach will also speak volumes about the evils of
undersampling.


However, it has two big merits, it provides a capability not obtainable
before at the price level and it can introduce some of our more
analogue-oriented members to the digital world by providing a
convenience to their current practise with little cost, commitment or
investment of time.

Gamma corections of a positive (slide) are readily done.  Making
positives from negatives is a bit more tricky.  And undersampling will
produce some hillarious artifacts occassionally.

Now the big question ... is there value in stereo "contact sheets" or
are we off topic.  <grin>
