What Paul doesn't know is that after I carefully remove the cardboard
windows I place the mount in a specially designed jig (my own
patented design) and trim all the inside edges to achieve perfectly
aligned and crisp edges. This usually takes about 3-5 minutes per
mount (two windows). Occasionally I have been known to do this after
a few beers, which accounts for those two bad ones he found. *{;-)

Seriously though, I have found that if you "pop" the windows out from
the front (glossy side) to the back there is less tendency for the
cardboard to split. The dye must cut from the front, which sometimes
doesn't go all the way through. If you "pop" from the back that layer
stays attached and can cause the fuzzy edge. This is usually most
evident in the corners.

We will see just how good these mounts are as I just entered my first
ever International Stereo Competition (Cordova Camera Club) with
slides mounted in Spicer cardboard mounts and finished with one piece
of glass and an EMDE aluminum binder. I personally feel they look and
project every bit as well as an RBT or Albion mount. The glass and
binder also allow them to be projected in any stereo projector.

If you want to see this mounting system in action don't forget that I
will be part of Jon Golden's mounting workshop at the NSA Convention
demonstrating the RBT jig to Spicer mount as well as the glass and
EMDE binder.
