One of my prized stereo possessions is a poster autographed for me by
Harold. I went to the L.A. PSA convention in 1970 and took along a
Personality Poster showing Harold in "Safety Last", hanging high over the
street from the hands of the clock. As I guessed, Harold was at the
convention (his home town, so to speak), and he was very gracious about
autographing the poster for a fellow stereo nut. As George pointed out,
Harold died in 1971. A sidelight is that the Chicago Stereo group was
invited to his home for dinner, and I learned about it a month or so later.
The person who told me about it said that they knew I had plane reservations
to get back to Chicago and assumed I didn't want to go. I still haven't
forgiven them for not giving me the option of taking a different flight.
