What is the difference between a transparency scanner and a slide
scanner? For that matter, what is the difference between a
transparency and a slide? When I shoot color I normally use Kodak
Ektachrome 100 Plus (in 4x5, 120 and 35mm). I've heard this called
slide, transparency, and color reversal film by different people at
different times.
For the stuff I want to put on the web I just got an Artec Scanrom 4e
for about $100 (shiping and taxes included). It will scan prints and
slides up to 4x6 inches at an optical resolution of 400x400. This
works out pretty well for my 4x5 and 120 slides and B&W negatives.
