Yes, but did they control for images with no compression? Otherwise,
what they may observe is the subjective robustness of stereoscopic
vision verses monoscopic vision. Their conclusions may say more about
stereoscopic vision than JPEG coding. I don't know this, but perhaps
people subjectively rate 3D images as higher quaility than the
equivalent 2D images. I know I like stereographs.
