Jonathan Gross wrote in reply to Paul Talbots post that "The maximmum
parralax between the two 35 film based images (delta) is the (American ad
hoc?) standard of 1.2mm (.04724") as reflected in mounting gauges available
from a variety of commercial sources." Actualy the gauge supplied by Reel
3D for 2x2 pairs from SLR,s. uses seperations of 0.5 1.0 and 1.5 mm . With
1.5mm being standard I think the reduced 0.5 and 1.0 are intended for
larger projection in more "proffesional" shows. I actualy tried cutting out
one of these gauges and put it into my Miranda Sensormat which has a
removeable pentaprism in order to measure when there was sufficient
seperation due to the movement of a ferry etc. Using the 1.5mm seperation
for the far point as would be done in the final mounting.
The seperation in some of the final results seems a bit excessive but then
when closer to the subject sometimes I could not wind on quick enough to
fire the shutter when the chosen far point just reached the second line.
