First, I want to establish crediblity. I was Editor of the ISU Stereoscopy
for one year. That magazine is exclusively for photography - I don't believe
that I ever published any historical material. It included topics such as
perspective, synchronizing twin camera rigs with electric and manually
operated shutters, twin closeup cameras, nature photography, etc. It had all
of 950 members/subscribers worldwide.
I never turned down an article, although some were edited heavily. If it
hadn't been for Paul Milligan and reprinting material from overseas mags, I
would have had some short issues.
I do not believe that John Dennis has a form letter to reject articles on
doing photography. Who on this list has submitted an article on photography
to Stereo World and had it rejected? Part of the problem is that 3D
collectors have historical articles as an natural output of their interest.
Photographers create photos, not articles. Hence an imbalance in print.
If you get the British, French or Australian 3D magazines, they are mostly
about doing photography with some emphasis on old cameras and equipment.
Collecting is a minor aspect of those clubs. I personally prefer a mixture of
collecting and photography.
Please qualify the above remarks with the fact that I use a Kodak Stereo
camera because my Realists are just too strange.

PS For a copy of the realist manual, dr can check th ad in Stereo World for
Reel 3-D. They have copies of most 50's manuals.
