P3D Re: Stereo World

As the (former) NSA secretary for many years, I can report that some
collectors of stereoviews resent each and every single article about
anything other than stereoviews, just as many shooters are bored to
death by the historical articles. Other members are delighted that
Stereo World attempts to cover everything in 3D. Editor John Dennis
has discussed his philosophy of balance of historic/modern articles in
past editorials, and it has been rehashed often at annual board
meetings and in voluminous correspondence. The goal is to maintain a
balance during the publication year, not within individual issues. I
may be mistaken, but I expect that the editorial policy is that it's
pointless to rehash everything about stereophotography that's already
been covered in the books from the 1950s, Reel-3D News, club
newsletters, etc. New developments and equipment are covered as the
articles are written and sent in for publication. Each issue and many
editorial comments over the years encourage these submissions. I know
he hounds potential authors, but perhaps he's too nice a guy to be
aggresive enough, and generally there are sufficient articles ready to
fill the magazine.
