Ron Labbe writes "WHERE IS "Inside 3D?" There's a fine current stereo
magazine, but... was it too much for the editor? (Dalia, I was waiting for
you to chime in during the stereo publication discussions, but I couldn't
hold off anymore! So, what's up? ..."

Dear Ron,

In order to tell you and others where INSIDE 3D Magazine is, I'd like to
tell you where it came from and where it's going.

At the beginning (about 6 years ago), within each of our sales catalogs (3D
from Dalia), I always tried to impart some information to help make
collecting stereo a little more enjoyable. By the time our twelfth catalog
came out, we were devoting a separate section to that information. It was
just one article, and only four pages. But it was destined to grow, and
each successive issue became bigger than its predecessor. And this growth
could never have happened WITHOUT the help of all the contributors.

After a while, the magazine section was as large as the sales catalog and I
was charging subscriptions to help with the costs. I tried designing the
magazine so that it appealed not only to collectors but with the help of
Dr. T. and others, interesting items for shooters too. The last issue was
the first in the larger format with a color cover, and the sales catalog
was now only an addendum at the end of the magazine.

But where we lived in California, lack of space prevented us from our goal
of consistant quarterly issues. So the task was to move to new larger
surroundings (now completed), and to secure the necessary editorial
and graphics assistance needed for consistant publications.

Our goal will be to continue to be a magazine of interest to the 20th
Century stereo photographer, stereo collector, and to report on stereo
happenings everywhere. We are lining up our assistance, and preparing our
next "bigger/better than the last" issue.

Because of the move and re-organization, we won't have an issue until June,
1998. But if you are interested in becoming a subscriber, we welcome you to
visit the website for INSIDE 3D. And if you have suggestions, ideas,
inspirations, etc. that you would like to see included in INSIDE 3D
Magazine, please let me know. I welcome your input.
