I was interested in Tom Deering,s third project for a Franka viewer and his
use of microscope eyepieces. How good were the results ,I have long thought
that it should be possible to make a high quality stereo viewer using
lenses from either a stereo or binocular microscope . Together with the
tubes they are held in which have the facility to focus one lens
independently to allow for differences between the eyes in the case of one
model of stereo and all binoculars that I know of. While the Olympus zoom
stereo and Kyowa binocular have focussing on both eyepieces ,in addition
they all have adjustable interoculars and in tha case of some binoculars
this is by means of a plate that the eyetubes are attatched to which should
be fairly easy to remove and fit to a light box. P.J.Homer
