OK, I think I see how this might actually work. The diagram on this
page is a bit misleading, the little bear should be shown facing the
lens, just as the viewer to the right is shown facing the screen.
Looks like the idea is to separate those rays coming from the left
half of the "single lens" from those coming from the right half,
which is standard sl3d concept. In this system a lenticular array
is used for that function, the little insert above the "lens array"
shows the two entering rays (in red) separated into A' and B' parts.
The lenticules are shaped to direct the rays onto alternate columns,
odd columns are from the right side and even from the left, so two
complete pictures are available. The resulting mixed image is
re-focused onto the ccd, maintaining the columns.
Another lenticular screen placed over the monitor ensures that the
viewer's eyes see the appropriate columns to recreate a stereo image.
To create the "four separate images" mentioned, either the imaging
lenticules are shaped to separate the single-lens into four zones, or
something is done in the "real-time processing" function.
Slick.
Apart from the two "military contracts" there don't appear to be
any products available as yet, this looks like a promotion of
the concept with the aim of capturing some commercial contracts.
