P3D IMAX-3D diagnostic equipment

Hello, photo-3d folks, I'm writing from London where I got to
see my first IMAX-3D film today. Pretty neat. But there was such
bad ghosting in the film that I had to ask if it was usually this
way. They told me that there shouldn't be and that they would check my
headset. I got to follow the attendant into the equipment room and
watch him test the headset. He explained that the headset responds to
4 infrared signals. I believe they were left-on, left-off, right-on,
and right-off. The machine beams to the headset, and a tone of different
pitch is produced ifor each signal if the headset responds. Well,
there were only 2 tones for my headset instead of a cycle of 4 rising
tones. So they gave me a free pass to see the show again. The
equipment looked really easy to use, you just pass the headset in front
of it. Just thought I'd share this interesting technical tidbit with
you all.
And if anyone happens to know of any stereo meetings in London before
Sunday, please let me know! Thanks,
--Emil Volcheck
