Thanks Mike K for supporting my point. My examples
of woodcarving and holography weren't the best I
suppose but they are from my experience.
Our world is so filled with 2D images that the
general public doesn't see 3D photos as a necessity
(even of their kids or grandkids). Thus you can
impress people with your 3D photos (and they are
truely impressed) but you are competing on the
basis of a hobby to get them to actually go out
and take photos.
Once they have started and are converts stereo
photos may become a necessity.
