P3D "Free Viewing"

Does anyone have an idea as to what percentage of the population
is capable of "free viewing"?

I would really rather not rely on glasses for viewing cards or
images on the internet. I have been trying to learn to free view
for the last six months. I have not yet been successful at cross
eyed free viewing. This afternoon I had my first quasi success
with wall eyed viewing. As I was attempting to view, I squeezed
the bridge of my nose (which I think diverged my eyes ever so
slightly) and POW! :^))))) FUSION!!!!! The only problem is that
when I stop squezzing, fusion only lasts about 1-2 seconds and
then the image separates into two. Can anyone offer any
suggestions on how to maintain the fusion, and can this method be
harmful?
