Wish I had known that when I edited "Steresoscopy" (or even "FreeWheelin'). I
would have saved a lot of time - but would have had some mighty short issues.
A major part of an editor's job is to take ideas that come in from members or
other contributors and tidy them up to be good articles. That all has to be
done without offending the author by trampling over their thoughts.
You don't have to have a Pulitzer prize winning article to contribute. Good ,
simple ideas in a simply stated article are what I looked for and what most
readers want.
On the "shooter" article thread, I have a modest proposal. I have read a copy
of George's club newsletter. It is several orders of magnitude above the
meeting notice format that most club newsletters have. But, not many people
get to benefit from that significant thought and effort since the club
membership is small.
I would nominate George as the "shooter" Editor for "Stereo World". Then
thousands of 3D addicts could benefit. Don't know what John Dennis and George
T. would think of the idea, but I know that the NSA is looking for help for
Dennis. He has been doing a huge task for a long time - it can get old after
awhile.
