P3D Re: prints

With the extensive discussions of a $30 CD and economy scanners for slides,
this may be a bit outlandish, but most clubs have at least one member with a
Polaroid SprintScan or equivalent. These will scan Realist slides at up to
2700 dpi using the single slide input with the assistance of a simple adaptor
(cardboard cutout to get the right outside dimensions).

There are currently many printers with near-photo quality printing at a
reasonable cost to print the scanned image. The software bundled with either
the scanner or printer can fix up the scan, if necessary. The Foto-Fun
printers or look-alikes will even put out a photo-quality Holmes-style stereo
card that can be popped into a Q-Vue for a finished product. This is when
speed is important or copying to a negative via standard slide copying
techniques isn't warranted.

An even simpler solution is to shoot cards like Bill Walton and I do and just
make a few copies at the local 1-hour photo shop :-)
