I think that the camera that Bob Wier is refering to was featured on the UK
"Tomorrows World" programe a while back. Consisting of a ring shaped camera
with the film run right round inside it if I remember correctly it had no
lenses but a multiple array of pinholes around the inside of the ring.
Another ring with identical holes revolved momentarily for a small amount
to uncover/cover the holes to make the exposure. They showed for a example
a dog suspended in mid air as it jumped through the hoop of the camera,
what puzzles me is why the opposite side of the camera hoop is not also
visible . Perhaps the DOF is very small but with a pin hole arrangment I
would have expected it to be large. I found that the sense of depth through
movement was strong even without a pulfrich filter. There would seem to be
a number of possible uses for this for stereo ,any pair could be selected
according to how much seperation was wanted and part or all of it could be
used to produce lenticulars or multiplex holograms. P.J.Homer
