I have the same question... What the heck is so complicated in mounting
slides?  First, I have seen cases where they are not cut properly.  Is
it so difficult to cut them at the center between two perforations
and advance 5 perforations between each cut?  A Lutes cutter will do
this and cut the entire roll in 20 seconds.  Why can't those "professional
mounters" do it?  Second, can they just center the chips and push them
down in the mount?  There is no rocket science here.  These people have
automated equipment.  They must be trying hard just to screw up the
way they do!
