It is easy to modify the standard carrier in the TDC 716
if you have access to a milling machine. Use some mounts
to mark exactly how large the openings will need to be,
with a little margin, but not too much, or the dowser won't
close completely. I mounted the entire carrier, with the
dowser open in the vise, and milled the openings to the
correct width, finishing the corners with a small round
file, as I didn't have a small enough mill for the corner
radius. You might be able to do the same thing freehand
with a Dremel, but it would be slow going. If you wanted
to use a nibbler, you would probably need to disassemble
the carrier.

The Selectron carrier is much more difficult, as it
requires modification to the dowser. I haven't tried it
yet.

I did try enlarging the openings on a Nord projector, but
was unsuccessful, as the Nord's condensers are not large
enough to provide coverage of 7 perf.
