I have and shoot with a German Lensed Realist F-3.5.
Its serial number is 19XXX, so it is one of the later models.
These lenses are sharp at F 5.6 and above. They do not
vignette. The camera takes great pictures since it is the
one that I take when the situation might be dangerous
to the camera. It is often the camera which takes some
of my best pictures! "Safe" images can be boring images.

My only complaint is that there is some pin cushion
distortion which is evident when buildings and other vertical
straight lines are prominent in the image. This distortion
is not noticeable in general photography (people etc...)

Note: I have tried Realist Custom camera and do not like
the images that they produce near as much as the images that
this camera takes. The lenses on the Custom render an image
with a "cool" (slightly blue) cast that I do not prefer.
The Custom Realists really needs to be used with
warming filters. Also, I can't say that the lenses on the Custom
are any sharper. When I am feeling insecure about my Realist 3.5,
I get out a David White Realist 2.8, serial number 12XXX. The
lenses on this camera do not vignette, are sharp and render an image

with no discernable color cast.
