I saw the mention of that in the archives, however, this is
more serious than just that. I did see the effect mentioned
in a posting by Elliott Swanson calling it light shutter, or
Selectron Gate hang-up. The black gate which is the light
shutter somehow gets blocked up. Unfortunately, the remedy
he mentioned involves a sophistication of metal working
which I am not comfortable performing.

I searched on project-or-view and project or view and
checked about 56 hits but did not find the one in question.
When I searched "Harry Poster" I got hundreds of hits.
