P3D Cleveland - Awards!

Just came back from the last meeting of the Ohio Stereo Photographic
Society. The best one so far! (I must have said this about 12 times! :-))

We started with the "Slide Of The Year" presented by special surprise
guest, Bill Turner. Billy did an excellent job putting the slides into
a program with music & narration. We then proceeded with the awards:

- First Place: Ron Fross
- Second Place: Jim Motley and Don Peck
- Third Place: Mark Dottle
- Best Beginner: Mark Dottle

Mark is to be congratulated for 1. Driving from Pittsburgh to attend
the meetings, 2. Fighting the elements of nature (bad Realist, house
fire) 3. Being distracted with other projects/events (Karen, T-shirts,
cute half frame stereo viewers, etc.) and still managing to capture
one of the top places!

- Slide of the Year: Harold Kaiman
- Honorable Mentions: Don Peck, Harold Kaiman,
                       Richard Fier, Wayne Karberg

Congratulations to Harold who has shot only about 5 rolls with his
Stereo Realist (which he got from DrT, but that has nothing to do
with it :-)) Harold came to the meeting with his two sons. He
had no idea about the awards (I did not know the winners either).
His sons must have felt proud for "good old dad"... and I hope
more Realist orders will be coming soon! :-)

Also, Richard Fier must be in his 4th or 5th roll too. It is great
to see beginners take excellent stereo pictures! They give the old
timers (Peck, Motley, Fross, Karberg?) a run for their money!

And....

- President's Appreciation Award: Robert Grand

We instituted this award to recognize members for dedication and service
to the club. We are a brand new club but it was not hard for our
President to select Robert, who: 1. was excited from the first day we
mentioned the possibility of a club, suggesting names, etc., 2. drove
from Detroit to attend most meetings, 3. helped design our official
club logo, 4. built and donated to the club a judge scoring machine.
Thanks Robert!

And many thanks to all members who helped make this Stereo Club a
success story!

PS. All the names listed above (except for Don Peck) are in photo-3d!
(alas, a bit more quiet than you know who!)
