P3D Re: "dolly motion 3D"

The Gap ad is still running (at least as of Monday).  Unfortunately I
haven't seen the hair color commercial even once!  No matter; I'm more
likely to buy some new pants than dye my hair :-)

By the way, I did capture a few frames of the Gap ad on film and it
really is decent 3-D.  I was finishing off a roll of View-Master and
experimented with a tripple-exposure using a Mark II:  One with the TV
off and bounce flash to get some context for the TV itself, then two
more (without flash) using successive frames of the ad frozen on-screen
via my VCR.  The results turned out incredibly well.  Now, if my TV had
a horizontal adjust, I'm pretty sure I could have gotten the guy's right
foot to come out of the screen if I had been able to tweek it between
L & R shots.  As it is, his foot is right at the stereo window at the
beginning of the "dolly" sequence.
