P3D Traumatized by my Realist

Just returned from an amazing 2 week trip to Greece. Anyone looking for
a good place to take 3D shots should head to Greece, pronto; the ancient
sites have a lot to offer - my favorites, aside the from obvious
(Acropolis) were: the Palamidi fortress in Napflion, Acrocorinth (above
the site of Ancient Corinth), Delphi, and
Meteora.
Anyway, I only shot 9 rolls - 2 of which broke half-way through
rewinding. My Realist has a hand crank, which I removed because it
interfered with advancing the film (I kept forgetting to flip it up
before advancing). Has this happened to anyone else? Halfway through a
rewind, the film became very tense and ripped! After this happened the
first time, I tried to be extra careful with rewinding - going easier if
things got tight, but I broke a 2nd roll. Is there something wrong with
my Realist or is there something wrong with me? Rewinding a roll of film
gave me a blister on my fore-finger each time as well.
I was so pissed-off... being at some amazing places, having taken some
amazing shots, and having film tear on me; now I'm wondering if the
rolls which didn't outright break on me have been stretched in the
rewind process... Arrrrghhh!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll know soon enough, as I
dropped the film off for developing this morning.
