The above is fairly accurate Dr Dave...however 6mm and 13mm
interchangeable lens bases are the accurate number. Currently we will
take suggestions for other lens bases, but foir now..we will stick with
this setup. I will have the very first one in July, it will be run
through some tests with the newest RBT X2V2 camera, and I will show a
finished unit, as some images, as all will be offered to buyers...at
NSA Richond.
Here is info on the RBT full frame MACRO only, up to this point:
RBT MACRO UPDATE
At NSA Bellevue 1997, we introduced the prototype of the RBT MACRO
system (see below) that will work with the X2,X3,X4 and 109 cameras.
Many of you at NSA who saw the MACRO had questions, and all I could do
was answer you with
sample full frame MACROS of Praying Mantis, Lizards, butterflies,
flowers...and other close up nature shots. They were very sharp and
convincing and here is what got them to that point in rough spec.
MACRO will be available to see in its finished production form at NSA
Richmond 1998 (all production units through the end of 1998 are already
reserved by customers, as of this posting) quickly adaptable to either
65mm or 75mm base (one or the other) RBT X2 (discontinued), X2V2, X3,
X4, 108 (discontinued) and 109 cameras
The prototype fastens to camera by dual bayonet....has two lever
releases...to attach and remove. Focus knob is on left side at lower
front of unit. Prototype is housed in a black plastic breadboard
housing....finished models will have a bellows system. Other thn that
...here is more updated MACRO info
Yes in fact even though many asked how possible, the new manual X4 will
work with the MACRO...however RBT is in the process of creating a
trigger system and quick plug in jack to accommodate the MACRO so it can
fire off a close shot accurately via shutter release. This option will
have to be ordered with the X4 camera ahead of time.
Full frame 24mm x 36mm capability, infinitely adjustable focus area
between near 1 to 1 ratio (24mm x 36mm) - far (85mm x 130mm), selectable
11mm or 6mm stereo base, f32 Meopta 105mm optics, stereo viewfinder.
All X2V2, X3 and X4 series cameras now have another lens option. RBT
now can link pairs of Pentax SMC FA 28-70 zoom sets. They are much
lighter and offer a higher quality option for these cameras.
