The ViewMagic side-by-side viewer should work pretty well with 4"
images. You can try varying the distance from the "print" to the
viewer. If that doesn't help, you can try Alan Lewis's Freeviewing
Assistant. It features a pivoting mirror and is highly portable.

Another possiblity is, get a pair of 4" (minimum) magnifying glasses
with a long focal length. Center the lenses over the images and look
through as shown below.
