P3D Re: Truly immersive 3-D experience?

Not me personally, but for that truly immersive 3-D experience I
guess the way to go is head mounted displays. The problem with
this is the resolution is not up to par yet.

But if your talking about immersive in the sense of larger and
better resolution, (i.e. more true to life stereo imagery) the
way to go is medium (or larger) format stereo photography.
Nothing else compares to it. I was really impressed with some
images I had a chance to see awhile back. There are quite a 
few people on this list that practice medium-format but they
are not quite as vocal as the 5-p crowd, and to a lesser
extent the 7-p and 8-p group (why is it the smaller the p, the
more vocal they are!?!).

Me too, but there are trade-offs with full frame stereo and I haven't
found the perfect 3-D camera yet. The Argus siamesed cameras sounded
interesting though, and will defintely look into it. Thanks guys.

You might want to wait till next year. Isn't NSA convention '99 going
to be held there?
