P3D Broken Realist

As I was advancing film in my Realist 3.5 yesterday, the small gear on
top of the takeup spool shaft broke a couple of teeth.  It's the gear
that meshes with the one inside the film advance knob.  Is this
something I can repair if I can get the parts?  If not, any
recommendations for a for someone who repairs Realist cameras?

BTW, I've only shot a few rolls through this camera since I got it, and
the film advance has always been difficult to turn.  I had chalked it up
to an old camera, etc, having never used a realist before and therefore
not knowing the difference.  Is this normal, or was there a problem that
led to the broken gear?
