P3D lcd panels for overhead projectors

In digest 2778, Tony Alderson was mentioning the possible use of
liquid crystal displays with overhead projectors for anaglyph
projection. I am currently wrapping up a short mini-course in 3D
imaging for middle-school students, and I have used the Smartview
3600LCD panel by InFocus Systems, with a 3M 9700 high-output overhead
projector, and find that it works for anaglyph, but nowhere near as
well as the computer monitor.

However, I discovered almost by accident that the image from this LCD
unit is polarized at 45 to the horizontal, and (unbelievable
coincidence) a second LCD panel that I have access to is polarized at
90 degrees to the first! I am trying to set them up for projection of
digital stereo pairs, but have found that one display is smaller and
dimmer than the other, but I'm working on it!
