P3D B&W Slide Film

>>>Carole (in Oxnard, CA) wrote (in response to an earlier question on
B&W slide film): Someone inquired about a b&w slide film. There is one
by Agfa called "Scala" which is carried by Samy's Camera and B&H. It
produces direct positive b&w slides, and although I haven't tried it, I
have heard that the results are excellent. It requires special lab
processing -- and that information would be available at the time you
purchase the film.<<<

I have heard that Scala film is somewhat unstable for repeated or
lengthy projection. I would like to hear from anyone who has used this
film or has more information on it. I always have my originals duped
prior to using them for competitions or shows anyway, but I would like
to be able to warn people when suggesting this film. I have not used my
two rolls yet, but have seen some excellent results (in stereo, too).
Does anyone know of any other B&W slide film that is readily available?

Another film I find interesting (but haven't tried) is infrared. I have
seen several members in our club use it with very intriguing results.
Perhaps someone who uses infrared would like to share some information
with us.

Thanks.
