All I can say to John, is: RELAX! Projection mounting is a myth.
Enter your slides, with or without adjustment policy, and the world
will not end. These kind of discussions give the (definitely wrong)
impression that decent mounting is an advanced skill, mastered only
by selected few. Nothing could be further from true. You see, I even
changed the subject line to "Democracy in Projection". :-) Anyone
can mount their first slide good enough to be projected without any
adjustment. If you can view it in the viewer without twisting your
eyeballs then you can project it (most probably :-)). Good luck!

Psss John... next time they hand you these flexible adjustment controls,
don't use them! (You did not tell us which control it was, but if it
was the horizontal, it is definitely useless... and so is the vertical,
IMHO. Focusing is OK.)
