Does that mean you think that women are naturally less capable of understanding
processing instructions? Or was it just a comment, like "usually a person
with blue eyes"? Or is it just that if you have to get in a shouting match
with someone, you'd rather be shouting at a man than at a woman? :-)

It sounds like you are partly trying to *educate* the sales person, which
can lead to a lot of complications. I would recommend concentrating on coming
up with a set of "magic words" that will reliably cause the processing to be
done correctly, with no attempt to educate the person. If including the
word "stereo" doesn't help, don't use it. If you find the magic words,
use them exactly the same every time.
