P3D Re Stereocards

Rod Sage asked about the use of an opaque projector to project stereocards
. The problem is opaque projectors give very little light to start with and
the polarisers will cut it down still further. Also stereo cards certainly
the antique ones are not mounted accurately enough for projection. An
interesting point is that the term stereoscope was used for opaque
projectors in 1815 several years before Wheatstones use of the word. But
the term here refered to the ability of these devices to project solid 3
dimensional objects onto a screen but not actualy in stereo. Would that
make a stereo version a stereoscopic stereoscope !. P.J.Homer
