P3D Realist to VM

Okay all, I'm looking for any and all suggestions to the following
project. I want to make VM reels for my kids. I have a Kodak Stereo
camera which takes GREAT 3D photos.

Now, the page http://www.rollanet.org/~vbeydler/van/vmformat.htm says
that the Branson MO reels were made using a Kodak Stereo so I'm assuming
that the negatives were either reshot/reduced to VM size or that they
were trimmed to VM size.

So, if someone out there with a VM film cutter will provide me the
outside dimensions of a film chip, I would appreciate it greatly.

This page also states that a mounted chip measures 11.5mm x 10.5mm. Are
these the dimensions of the chip or the dimensions of the reel window?

Has anyone tried making a mask to place over the Kodak viewfinder (or
even a Realist viewfinder) to reduce the "viewable area" to VM size?
Would this even be viable option to assure that your subject is centered
on the film properly?

Please pass on any experience that anyone has in this area. I'll make
some preliminary attempts with my next roll of film to see how things
come out.

Thanks & regards,
Ron
