P3D Stereo Card Exhibitions

The closing date for the SSA 3rd International Stereo Card Exhibition was
11 July. We received 48 entries, which I think is a new record for PSA
recognized stereo Card Exhibitions. Entrants included many "first
timers" like P3D Bruce Springsteen, Joan Stenson of Australia, SSA
members Bill Patterson and Bill Lee, and Al Sieg from Rochester NY. I
think this is a very healthy indicator for the future of stereo card
Exhibitions.

Now all I have to do is take the cards to Atlanta to be judged, then take
the accepted entries to Richmond so they can be displayed at the NSA
Convention, bring them back to Georgia, have two local showings and one
in Atlanta and then mail out the catalogs that Co Chairman Dick Twichell
will make and return the cards to their owners (except for those cards
which will be forwarded to the next exhibition) This process may look
rather complicated, but once you have done it a time or two, it all falls
into place.

The fun part about an exhibition is being able to view the 192 stereo
cards from around the globe! What a variety of subjects, from a GM
assembly plant in Delaware to an elephant laundry in Thailand to a
wedding in India.

I encourage everyone to participate in these stereo card exhibitions and
see how your "stuff" stacks up against some of the world's best Stereo
Card Makers (Personal Opinion there, no figures to back this statement
up) The next exhibition following the SSA is the 5th Chesapeake, which
has a closing date of 19 Sep. For entry forms for this exhibition
