Thanks to all of you who responded to my SCR query.  I've tried to thank
each of you and I hope I haven't missed anyone.  Although the SCR
required remains elusive at least I'm reassured that I remember the
spiffy, simple slave circuit correctly.  If the SCR is found, or if a
replacement is found, I'll report on it here.

By the way, it may be that my second post on the subject sounded a bit
testy.  If so, I apologize, it wasn't my intent to be curt or
discourteous.  I have a great deal of respect for the folks here and I
wouldn't willingly be ungrateful or insulting.  I will blame the office
UPS software, our creaking printer and the bookkeeping software, all of
which are intent on removing what hair I have left this week.    I may
have been a bit tired.  Today I will buy a new printer, new software is
on the way and so is a UPS rep., so I should be better soon.
