P3D Re: Stereocard Scorecard

Bruce wrote up a great table listing the various glues. One of the
glues that has probably stood the test of time is the one used in
the turn of the century stereo-cards, still going strong today.

made with a floury paste concoction (or something like that?).
Sounds messy. In any case, what did they use and why not use it
today?
