P3D Wheat starch
Dan Wenz writes:
--True, and I bought some several years ago together with an anti-fungal
substance to mix it with. Now I'll be forced to find out where I got the
info. from (probably the series of archival articles printed in S.W.
several years ago - which I have but couldn't track down today). Any of
you have the reference? I haven't used the stuff (yet) but may be forced
to do so soon since Grand Photo went out of the two-on-one-card business--
David Lee's suggestion for using 3M Positionable Mounting Adhesive =23 568 =
is the best because it is the easiest to work with. However, it does not s=
ay archival on the box but I asume it is. What you are referring to is a m=
aterial used by museums around the world that are serious about archivalnes=
s. It is called wheat starch, Aytex P, packed and distributed by Talas. M=
ix it with distilled water. It has proven to be archival because Japanese =
prints and drawings over 500 years old glued to backing with it have stood =
the test of time with zero image detrerioration because of the adhesive. T=
hey used rice paper also which has been proven to be 100 per cent archival.=
