Thanks Grant! We took the ferry to Bremerton to meet with Elliott Swanson.
Elliott, an active photo-3d member and stereo enthusiast for years now has
been off photo-3d for some time now (but he still posts in sell-3d). We
had a great visit in Bremerton. It is the first time I've met Elliott after
years of email correspondence. It turns out to be a great guy, constantly
busy exporing new areas of stereo photography. He showed us fantastic slides
from his new macro stereo camera. We had a chance to snap a few pictures,
Elliott with his Kodak vs. my Realist.
In the way back I spotted this guy waiting in the ferry exit, with a stereo
camera around his neck. It was Grant, patiently waiting for our return.
Grant turns out to be a great guy too (I keep on telling my wife how nice
those "stereo folks" are... and that's true!) I wish we had more time
to spend with Grant. The stereo camera around his neck was a Custom
Realist. First time I have seen and touched one of those. He showed us
his slides from the Enchantment Lake hike. Fantastic work! Sharp, well-
composed stereo slides are hard to beat! I was commmening on the exposures.
All the slides were perfectly exposed, even under tricky lighting situations.
Grant showed me an ancient light meter he was carrying but there must be
more than that!

I got a taste of this when we went up Mt. Rainier the second day (Saturday)
It was cloudy in the morning and in our way up towards "Paradise" we could
not see anything. We were next to the mountain and yet it was invisible.
Fortunately for us, the clouds cleared up by noon when we reached the
"Reflection Lake". Just in time to snap a few reflection pictures that
we see in all the calendars (only mine will be in stereo!!!)

Don't worry :-). You are lucky to live in such a nice area of the USA.
This was my first visity to a national park and it was really great.
My wife asked how often we would be taking trips like that if we were
living in Seattle. Not very often, that's for sure. We tend to take
our home-town for granted. I am sure there are very nice areas around
Cleveland and in Ohio. Something to explore during the weekends...
Now... back to work!
