Both Leitz and Zeiss made stereolenses for Leica and for Contax.
As the base was short - suitable for tabletops, but not for orthostereo
of objects from 2 m to infinity, a prism-beamsplitter was a supplied
with the lenses, as was a special viewfinder. The 2 stereopictures are
exposed on one 24x36 negative (slide) in vertical format 2x18x24.
The Leitz lenses was marketed as:
Stemar - 2 x 33 mm / f: 3.5
Stereo Elmar - 2 x 35 mm / f: 3.5

They do exist (as collectors items) and the price is AFAIN
about $ 4000 to $ 8000 depending on condition. The optical
quality of both lenses and beamsplitter is excellent.
The Zeiss lenses was marketed as:
Stereotar - 2 x 35 mm / f: 3.5

They do exist (as collectors items) and the price is AFAIN
about $ 2000 to $ 5000 depending on condition. The optical
quality of both lens and beamsplitter is excellent.
