How about "strech"? 

Two conditions must be met for ortho: 

1. Interaxial = interocular (got the terminology right this time? :-))
2. FL of taking lens = FL of viewing lens

Grant points out to #1.  But the FL of the VM cameras is smaller than
the Realist while the FL of the viewers are comparable (at least for
inexpensive viewers), hence we have a problem with #2.
