Not necessarily. In my mind "twinning" is putting two cameras on a
single mount (a twin bar) and operating them simultaneously (by
winding each film advance, cocking each shutter (if needed), and
firing the shutters simultaneously). "Siamesing" is taking two
cameras and rebuilding them as a single unit. The RBTs are siamesed
cameras using a single strip of 35mm film. Alan Lewis
<URL:http://www.arlington.net/homes/dlewis> and Sam Smith
<URL:http://www.cadvision.com/3dhacker> have both siamesed medium
format (MF) twin lens reflex (TLR) cameras such that they use two
strips of 120 film (run vertically through each half of the camera),
but all the controls and the camera bodies, are linked together. Sam
has also siamesed some of the older folding MF cameras to create a
single camera that uses one strip of MF film (run horizontally across
both halves of the camera).
