P3D "Hacked" Argus C3 Cameras

I am interested in learning more about the "hacked" together stereo
camera created from several Argus C3 cameras.  I do not know how to find
such old cameras from local flea markets but have noticed several for
sale on ebay.  Since the production run on these cameras ran from 1939
to 1966, are all these cameras equivalent from the hacking standpoint or
is a certain time period important?  I would be interested in any
further details or references to previous posts about this subject.
